ABEKA ONLINE LEARNING
I pray all is well in your household and you are staying spiritually strong, safe and healthy. Please read the below information for starting online review and new learning using the ABEKA curriculum and accessing free meals throughout the Prince William County.
STAY SAFE AND HEALTHY – the highest priority now is to stay healthy. Parents and guardians should follow CDC Guidelines for physical distancing of children. If children meet outside of school in bigger groups, it can put everyone at risk. Please visit the Prince William County COVID-19 website to see additional local guidance. For spiritual guidance please visit Victory Christian Ministries International of Virginia.
VCP&A AND ABEKA Partnership – STUDENT LEARNING CONTINUES
First and foremost, we want all families to know that the continued learning of our students is important to us. Although our school building and grounds are closed, ABEKA learning can continue online for the PreK4 and Kindergarten students. ABEKA has provided this opportunity at no cost to parents while the school is closed. Even though our staff is not working they have volunteered their time to be available if you have questions about the online assignments. (Directions, user manuals, username, password and teacher availability will be sent on Class DoJo.) Students ages 2 and 3 are able to follow all the resources on Family Teacher Ministry webpage and continue potty training times of at least every 1.5 – 2 hours.
Although, we are currently not grading this online learning for PreK4 and Kindergarten, this learning system will be able to support both review and new learning. It is best to do online learning on a desktop or laptop; however, most tablets and phones may also support the system.
It is our hope that all PreK4 and Kindergarten students are able to login ABEKA and continue their new learning to prepare the student for next year. However, if you are uncomfortable with doing the ABEKA lessons, choose not to use it or need additional resources, we encourage you to visit our Family Teacher Ministry webpage and click on “Home Learning” for ideas and recommended schedules to keep students engaged in learning while at home.
PERSONAL ITEMS/BOOKS – If you would like to pick up your items at the school Thursday and Friday, April 2 and 3 from 10am – 12pm you must email Mrs. Byrd at before 8:30am on each day to let her know which day you will be stopping by to pick up. If she doesn’t get an email, she will not be there.
FOOD SERVICE – PWC will continue to provide to-go meals from 9–11 a.m. at locations across the County. More details about meal service.
Thank you for your patience and continued partnership.
